OLYMP is the largest shirt brand in Europe. From the company's headquarters in Bietigheim-Bissingen in Swabia, their extensive range of shirts, knitwear and accessories is shipped all over the world. In addition to wholesale and B2B trade, their distribution channels also include the Europe-wide retail business and B2C online trade.

After the entire retail area at OLYMP was switched over to Microsoft Dynamics NAV in 2016 and a web shop was connected, the next step was the implementation of the supply chain project, including financial accounting.

The starting point was 1st February 2018, and the last of the staggered go-live dates was 25th January 2021.

Well-defined project goals, successful implementation

Within the scope of the project, a number of goals were defined in order to optimise the process chain to a greater extent and in a sustainable manner. These included, among other things, central and consistent master data management across client and system boundaries, and highly automated processes and their monitoring. OLYMP focused on optimising the supply chain in order to be able to react as quickly and flexibly as possible to changing market requirements and to align procurement and production capacities directly with them.

These goals were successfully realised.

The high level of inventory transparency of materials and items, taking into account peripheral systems, has also been a major success of the project - from the tracking of goods in transit through the central warehouse to the POS.

BE-terna and OLYMP - a strong partnership

Angela Bundschu, the project manager at OLYMP, sees BE-terna's industry experience in particular as one of the success factors for good cooperation:

A unique selling point of BE-terna is certainly its extensive know-how in the fashion industry.

We have a partner at our side who knows exactly what they are talking about, and I would also like to emphasise their high level of solution and consulting competence. We now have an extremely flexible system for supply chain management in place, with which we can implement all the special requirements we have at OLYMP."

The success of our customers always comes first for us, and we have been associated with OLYMP as partners for many years and are therefore very pleased that we were able to make a further contribution to the future success of the company with this project,

says Frank Lipfert, project manager on the BE-terna side.
