Creating assortments from home: Manor opts for digitalisation and mobility

Manor AG, the Swiss market leader in the department stores' segment was founded in 1902 and has more than 10,000 employees today. In 2019, the new ERP system, implemented by BE-terna, went live after a three-year project period.

The implementation of the new BE-Fashion business software package based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations came at exactly the right time for us. Completely cloud-based, it offers the best conditions for smooth process flows, especially during the Corona crisis,

says Francesco Ferrara, IT Project Manager at Manor AG. The system proves its value especially during the time of corona-related branch closures. Employees are able to ensure growth in e-commerce while working from home. Supported by the modern industry solution BE-Fashion, the Microsoft Office 365 integration, as well as the connection with the Microsoft tools Teams and OneNote, the merchandising units at Manor are also able to plan and record assortments from home. Inventory planning is coordinated between headquarters and the sales floors using online workflows. Important information and protocols are recorded online, often in realtime. Changes and corrections are thus available to all authorised staff members.

All important data in view at all times

Modern online monitoring provides a comprehensive view of supplier information and the order situation. Thanks to Microsoft Sharepoint, responsibilities, tasks and status information can now be viewed continuously by authorised employees. This is an enormous advantage in times of social distancing and working from home. Thanks to the integration of Microsoft Power BI in BE-Fashion, reporting is possible from any location. All those responsible have a continuous overview of sales data - from the head office to the individual stores to the cash register. They can also generate live reports on assortments and item statistics, as well as stock information.

Better customer service with the BE-Mobile App

Customer service offers Manor's sales staff completely new possibilities with the specialised solution BE-Mobile, integrated in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Stock enquiries, customer orders, reservations and door-to-door transfers can be controlled directly from the sales floor. The customer receives the corresponding delivery information at the same time. Price changes can be implemented in realtime with the app, including price tag or label printing. BE-Mobile also allows Manor personnel to access price and inventory information for the entire assortment, including changes. In this way, the system supports Manor in automating and simplifying processes and helps to save time and money.
