The Fortuneglobe Group is a reliable specialist for the development and operation of online shops and the connection of online marketplaces such as Zalando, Otto, and Amazon. The full-service e-commerce agency supports its customers holistically in the implementation of their e-commerce strategies.
Due to the increasing size and complexity of the company, manual processes of data preparation were no longer sufficient and the resulting "time-to-market" was too long. Therefore, Fortuneglobe decided to implement a Business Intelligence solution in summer 2020 and achieved remarkable results within a very short time.

The route to Qlik Sense

The fast-moving fashion industry demands agile processes for companies to be able to react flexibly and immediately to market changes. For this purpose, it is essential for Fortuneglobe to always have up to date company data from parent and subsidiary companies, in order to recognise new potentials more quickly. In addition, a whole range of available data should be used, which had proven to be difficult in previous manual reporting. To achieve these goals, Fortuneglobe decided to implement a Business Intelligence solution. Initially, various tools were considered. In the end, Qlik Sense was chosen because this modern data analytics platform was able to cover Fortuneglobe's complex data structure well, and met all the previously defined requirements.

Fast & detailed data handling with Qlik Sense

After a one-month preliminary project, Qlik Sense is now in operation in various divisions of Fortuneglobe. André Preusker, Business Data Engineer, is enthusiastic:

Just two months after the introduction of Qlik Sense, we are already noticing that the processes have increased in speed. This saves me about 25% of my working time that was previously needed to manually create the weekly reports.

The sales figures are now available on a daily basis and the quality of the reports has also been improved through automated data integration. Each morning, the various users have access to the figures from the previous day, and can thus obtain an overview of the current KPIs at any time. All industry-standard KPIs can be analysed at will. It does not matter whether it is a basic overview of the most important key figures such as sales, margins or returns quotas, or detailed reports at brand or product level.

The aim of merchandise planning is to evaluate the stock levels, deliveries, sales, etc. of the approximately 100 brands for which Fortuneglobe is a service provider. The brands are each connected to different portals, so it is necessary to monitor the live stock levels as well as the histories of goods deliveries and live aisle placement of the products. In contrast to the evaluations for management, merchandise planning looks at these in even finer detail, so the figures must not only be available at brand level, but also for each individual product. It is also possible to see how much turnover has been generated with which brands, and from which recommendations for further action can then be derived.

There are also various key figures in sales that need to be evaluated. It is important to maintain an overview of the key figures for newly acquired brands in order to relate the forecasts to actual figures.

In addition to the aforementioned divisions, Fortuneglobe plans to extend the reporting to other internal areas, and to increase the number of Qlik Sense users accordingly. Once the expansion of the internal reporting has been completed, external reporting will also be created in the future. This will ensure that the brands have access to and benefit from the daily updated key figures via a specially developed dashboard.
