2 min read Jun 03, 2020

When and why did you join BE-terna as an Application Engineer, what initially drew you to the company?

I joined BE-terna in the autumn of 2017. I think that BE-terna, as a big IT company in Slovenia, is very interesting to work for, because as an individual, you have the chance to work with people with lots of knowledge, expertise and skill.

What is the job of Application Engineer like at BE-terna? What is a typical day like for you?

My typical day consists of daily meetings, coordination with team members, software development for tasks, functionality testing, writing documentation, creating designs for functionality…
As an Application Engineer in the implementation team, you get the chance to work on different projects, so there is always something new to learn and to work on.

What are the pros and cons of being an Application Engineer?

I think working as an Application Engineer is never boring, because you get new challenges almost every day. However, if those challenges get repeated over and over day by day, it can be a bit boring.

What does it take to be an Application Engineer?

To be a great Application Engineer you have to develop and learn lots of content knowledge, as well as having great technical skills of course. You have to learn how to participate and work in a team. You have to learn from experience and good practice. I think an individual can learn lots by themself , but you also have to listen and ask for advice from senior colleagues and ask for a second opinion.

Who would you recommend BE-terna as an employer to?

I would recommend BE-terna to people who need challenges at work every day.

When I was a kid I wanted to be... 😉

A construction architect.

if you could choose 3 adjectives to describe BE-terna's culture, what would they be?

Friendly, Helpful and Cheerful.

Every person is a story

We don’t just fill roles, BE-You!
