BE-terna - Information on the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for customers and partners

3 min read Mar 16, 2020

Infection with the coronavirus is currently spreading rapidly in many countries of the world. It is paramount to contain the epidemic and protect human life.
To prevent the spread as much as possible, many governments have taken measures in recent days, some of which are very rigorous. Measures include restrictions on travel and border crossings, closures of shops and businesses and the reduction of social contact to prevent the further spread of infection by encouraging increased work from home.

Through the ongoing coordination with our regional companies, we are closely following the regulations and recommendations issued by authorities and governments. The health and safety of our employees and the employees of our customers and partners is our top priority.

Following the recommendations of respective governments, we have decided to move all of our activities online for two weeks beginning with 16 March 2020. We would like to ask for your support in this measure to reduce and contain the spread of the virus as much as possible in a joint effort. For the same reasons, any appointments scheduled to take place in our offices will be moved to online appointments.

Your contact persons from the project management, Service Center or account management teams will work with you to adjust the planned activities accordingly.

Business Continuity

Securing the welfare of people and the containment of the spread of the virus is our number one goal. The second most important goal in these challenging times is to maintain the health of the entire economy. We are taking all measures to ensure that projects keep moving forward and service/support is maintained. The overall aim is to provide joint support for companies and avoid consequential damage and problems in the overall economy as much as possible.

At BE-terna we have all the prerequisites – both in terms of the methodology of cooperation and the technical equipment – to implement the activities required for projects and ongoing support and service using online workshops and online cooperation.

We are therefore able to deliver high-quality support and ensure collaboration with our customers despite the travel restrictions.

To help you, your contact persons at our company can provide you with further information including a list of software and hardware recommendations for effective online collaboration. The relevant licenses for collaboration in projects and services are made available through BE-terna.

Online collaboration - further information

Switching to online collaboration is a very helpful measure to contain COVID-19. Makers of software products for online and remote work currently provide licenses, some of which are free, to enable you to continue working with your employees and business partners.

We recommend the use of Microsoft Teams. The application is included in Office 365 subscriptions.

If you do not currently have an Office 365 subscription, there is also the option of using it free of charge through a Microsoft Teams basic plan. It allows you to use the basic audio call and video call functions, chat, shared content editing and file storage, which are important for collaboration.

Furthermore, you can apply for a free test license from Microsoft through BE-terna if you want to use the full range of functions.

If you have any questions about our measures to contain coronavirus infections or available options for online collaboration, please contact your contact person at our company.

Of course, we will keep you informed if there are any changes or further information.

We are convinced that together with our customers and partners we can take important steps in addressing the situation and that society will overcome this challenge.

We thank you for your cooperation and we wish you good health!
