#BEresponsible: Together against the Covid-19

2 min read Dec 23, 2021

2021 was a challenging year. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, people worldwide have been living in an exceptional situation economically, socially and medically; health systems and medical staff have reached their limits. For this reason, BE-terna is supporting Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in the fight against Covid-19 in Greece with this year's Christmas donation.

For us at BE-terna "responsibility" is one of our core values; that means we take responsibility for our actions and, in this specific case, stand up together for vaccination! With this in mind, we have again decided to support the valuable work of "Médecins Sans Frontières" - notably their initiatives in the fight against Corona in Greece. A small contribution that we can all get back to normal and overcome this critical situation together.

Bernhard Lang, CEO of BE-terna

In the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic and for people's health, Médecins Sans Frontières is active in 76 countries worldwide. They support hospitals and clinics with medical staff, train personnel, send relief supplies, take care of isolation areas and take infection control measures.

The projects in Greece aim to promote access to Covid-19 vaccination for vulnerable and excluded refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants. At Samos, MSF built a mobile clinic outside a new refugee camp to provide continued medical care to people. In Athens, "Health Promoters" take the streets to raise awareness about Covid-19 vaccines in the migrants and refugee’s population. They also provide administrative support with the registration process for the vaccine.

Worldwide - since March 2020, MSF teams have conducted over 181,000 COVID-19 tests, treated more than 17,000 patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms, and administered more than 64,000 COVID-19 vaccinations. Our aid is only possible thanks to your help. Your donations mean that we can provide impartial and unbureaucratic emergency medical aid.
