Purposes for which personal data should be processed
We take photos and film recordings at BE-terna events for public relations activities. We use them for public relations activities on social media channels, on our website or in print media to present our activities and increase our level of awareness.

The recordings are also used for internal reporting at BE-terna (e.g. Viva Engage, presentation during onboarding process).

As you are attending our event, we assume that there are no general reasons from your point of view against taking photographs and film recordings and processing for the purposes described. Should this in fact be the case, please contact our staff here on site or the photographer(s) themselves.

Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). BE-terna has a legitimate interest in public relations activities and internal reporting.

Recipient categories
The data is made available to the public on the Internet and published on social media channels. The data will not be passed on to recipients who pursue their own purposes with this data. In the case of social media channels, however, the respective social media service may be granted the right to use the published data.

Transfer to third countries
When published on social media channels, data is also transferred to third countries.

As part of our group structure, your personal data may also be made available to BE-terna group companies in countries within and outside the EEA for the aforementioned processing purposes.

Duration of processing
We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the above-mentioned processing purposes. A regular review takes place in this regard.

Rights of the data subjects
You have the right to object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR). The objection can be sent to dataprotection@be-terna.com (whereby any other type of objection is also possible).

However, it can be assumed that the controller's interest in taking and using the photos does not excessively infringe on the rights and freedoms of the natural persons, in particular since they have gone into the public domain, the taking and use of the photos was pointed out in advance and at the event, and care is taken both when taking photos and when publishing them to ensure that no legitimate interests of the persons depicted are violated. If the rights and freedoms of a person depicted are violated for reasons worthy of particular consideration, we will take appropriate measures to prevent further processing. The person cannot be made unrecognizable in print media that has already been issued. Erasure on the website or on social media channels takes place within the scope of technical possibilities.

As the data subject, you also have the following rights according to the GDPR:

  • Access (Art. 15)
  • Rectification (Art. 16)
  • Erasure (Art. 17)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Data portability (Art. 20)
  • Withdrawal of consent, if applicable (Art. 7 (3))

Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
You can lodge a complaint at any time with the competent data protection authority in the country where you live, work or believe the data breach has taken place.
