Many interfaces to multiple data sources
Large amounts of data present in many different systems, and thus many interfaces to a wide variety of data sources, were the reason for KSV1870 to set up its own system from scratch - without having to design its own data warehouse. Various aspects were decisive in the search for a tailor-made
data management solution. These included the high levels of manual effort involved in data preparation and the desire to be able to create analyses and reports much faster - virtually at the push of a button. The decision was made in favour of
Qlik Sense as the analysis platform and BE-terna as the contact and implementation partner providing competent consulting and support on-site.
Data as a core competence
With the new business software, comprehensive evaluations, analysis, and statistics such as trend analysis, economic barometers, insolvency statistics, plan/actual comparisons, risk analysis, and potential analysis should be feasible and presentable in an innovative and modern way. Ease use of the system, as well as the coverage of authorisation and security requirements, were central requirements for the new system. In addition, in-house support was important in the selection of the partner. A declared implementation goal was the automation and reduction of effort along with the creation of a uniform data basis and truth.
Based on this, several apps for internal sales controlling and customer reporting were developed. In addition, a new, value-adding analytics product was designed for the group of companies by using a flexible app: "KSV1870 Analytics" for market and potential analysis.
The development of the server infrastructure with a comprehensive authorisation and security concept and the training of the employees were key central elements for the successful implementation.
Drastic reduction of data preparation times
The implementation of the software solution resulted in both resource and time optimisation. Due to the new, simplified preparation of data, considerable added value for the company, and relief for customer advisors could be achieved. The improved efficiency in data processing and preparation made it possible to generate significant contributions to added value, which forms the basis of a solid return on investment. The cross-divisional and company-wide ad hoc reporting also enabled management to have constant access to current, valid and accurate figures, as well as gaining insight into existing correlations. An expansion project is already being planned.
